Jawharat Al-Maaden presents its brief for Monday, September 28, 2026. With wishes of safety for all our families, here is what matters this week for customers who buy gold both to wear and to keep.
The price: Gold has eased about 7% since late August and trades near $4,300–4,350 per ounce — still about 17% higher than a year ago. The Dubai reference this morning is about $140.60 per gram for 24K (around $703 per mithqal) and about $123 per gram for 21K (around $615 per mithqal), before making charges and local costs.
Why coins and small bars now: When gold dips, customers who save in gold get more grams for the same money. Coins, liras and small bars carry the lowest making charges, so more of what you pay is pure metal — and more is recovered if you ever sell. With Iraq’s oil exports back above 3 million barrels a day, confidence is slowly returning, but many families still prefer to hold part of their savings in gold.
For our customers — this week’s specifics: Ask for our range of 24K bars and 21K liras by weight. Buy in steps rather than all at once. Keep every receipt and certificate. For jewellery, choose designs you love to wear — and keep your savings gold simple.
The honest cautions: Gold went from above $5,500 in January to below $4,000 in June; it can fall as well as rise. Keep gold as part of your savings, not all of it, and never borrow to buy.
