On 2 November 2026 a 10g 24K gold bar is about $1,281 and a kilo of silver about $1,600. Prices in dollars and dinars for bar, lira and metal buyers in Iraq.
Iraq, Monday 2 November 2026. Precious metals bounced on Monday after a very hard October.
Silver rose about 2% to near $49.75 an ounce on Monday, after losing about 19% in October, nearly three times gold’s fall. Gold gained about 1% to near $3,900 after a 6% monthly drop. Both fell sharply on Friday when a stock market selloff forced investors to sell metals. At the Dubai benchmark, 24K gold is about $128.11 per gram and 22K about $118.65.
What it means for metal buyers: silver moves much faster than gold in both directions. Gold bars and liras are the steadier choice; silver suits buyers who accept bigger swings.
Example: a 10g 24K bar is about $1,281, or about 2.16 million dinars at the Baghdad market rate of 1,682.5 per dollar. A 22K gold lira of about 7.2g holds about $854 of gold, around 1.44 million dinars. One kilo of silver is about $1,600, or about 2.69 million dinars. Premiums are added on top.
Advice for customers: buy bars from known refiners with clear weight and purity marks, and keep the certificate. Compare the premium per gram, not just the total price.
The honest caution: Silver can lose a fifth of its value in a month, as October showed. Spread purchases over time, keep emergency savings in cash, and never borrow to buy metals.
